Formed in Olympia, Washington in 1991 by Corin Tucker and Tracy Sawyer, Heavens to Betsy are one of the defining bands of the riot grrl movement, alongside Bratmobile, Bikini Kill, and the band Tucker would go on to form, Sleater-Kinney. And now, after decades and decades: they’re back. Heavens to Betsy announced a reunion tour in June, and now a new archival album, Baby’s Gone, out October 16 via Kill Rock Stars. Here, Jenny Nobody, a real-life screenprinter at Hello Merch, shares with Public Record, how a riot grrl mixtape changed everything for her.
