In other news: Japanese noise rockers Boris have announced the Amplifier Worship Service tour, a cross country trek celebrating their landmark 1998 album Amplifier Worship. The tour kicks off September 25th in San Diego and wraps up in Tucson and Tempe, Arizona in early November— November 2 at 191 Toole and November 3 at the Marquee. They promise “an extended backline” and “two-drummer line up.”
And Merge Records has announced Service Merchandise, the debut from Previous Industries, which features Open Mike Eagle, Still Rift, and Video Dave. They’ve dropped a new video, “Pliers,” a shot for shot parody of a scene from Steven Spielberg’s Jaws shot by Ryan Calavano and animated by Emmy award winner Crankbunny.
