Singer/songwriter Sunny War grew up raiding her parents’ CD collection, where she dug into a diverse mix of sounds including Ween, Public Enemy, Ministry, Gillian Welch, and more. That diversity informs her latest album, Anarchist Gospel (New West Records), which is as comfortable with rootsy folk songs as it is with Crass-referencing punk rhetoric.
