50 years on, the time warp is still in style. In the five decades since The Rocky Horror Picture Show first premiered on the big screen, it’s become more than a movie—it’s a way of life.
For ultimate fans: Vegas-based company Viva Las Vegas has begun offering Rocky Horror-themed wedding packages, which come complete with appearances by the assorted cast of characters, flowers, a DVD of your nuptials, and round-trip limo service from any hotel on the strip or downtown.
For more casual fans, this fall HarperPop releases ROCKY HORROR: A Behind the Scenes Look at the Cult Classic, featuring photos by the legendary rock photog Mick Rock, known for his pics of David Bowie, Lou Reed, Queen, and Blondie.
And that’s not all, on October 7, a newly restored 4K steelbook edition drops, and on October 10, a 50th anniversary deluxe edition of the soundtrack pressed on 180g red-in-gold vinyl.
Dammit, Janet, that’s a lot of ways to celebrate, so “give yourself over to absolute pleasure…” the pleasure of Rocky Horror!
