Psychedelic punks the Osees have announced a new album, Abomination Revealed at Last, out August 8th via the Deathgod label—formerly known as Castleface Records, because apparently frontman John Dywer got bored with only constantly changing the Osees’ name.
The Osees are unstoppable, blending psych, hard rock, punk, synth minimalism, and whatever else sounds good to them at any given time.
That said, the new album is inspired by some gnarly concerns. Dwyer says: “AI empathy, genocides, social media data collection & addiction, the alignment of tech billionaires with the fascist overlords and their armada of dogs, civilians being kidnapped by bootlicking thugs, the death of due process…the list goes on and on. It’s been a long year already.”
It sure has, John. But thankfully news of this new record has put some wind into our sails. Take a listen to first single ‘Fight Simulator’ now, and if it doesn’t get your blood pumping, you need to see a medical professional.
