Yup, The Misfits 1978 classic, “Last Caress” has been officially certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America®, having achieved over 11 million streams. The lyrics, well, they aren’t for the timid. Despite Danzig’s initial reluctance to include the track on the album, legend has it that o.g. Misfits guitarist Bobby Steele convinced him otherwise, with the addition of some haunting layered reverb guitar. While Danzig himself has reunited the original Misfits lineup, there’s no word on whether they’ll ever invite Bobby to re-join, after decades of feuding and drama. Rumors are swirling concerning the release of an all-new Danzig album this summer, which would be his first full-length since 2020’s Danzig Sings Elvis—we’ll keep you updated with any news worth reporting!
