La Dispute Roll Into Driverless Gear | Music News

On September 5th, post hardcore band La Dispute release their fifth album, No One Was Driving The Car. To roll the album into gear, the Michigan rockers have been releasing the entire tracklist divided into acts; this week, they shared the record’s fourth act, comprising three songs: “Top Sellers Banquet,” “I Dreamt Of A Room With All My Friends I Could Not Get In,” and “Saturation Diver,” which comes with a new video directed by guitarist Adam Vass and shot by the band on their recent EU tour.

Vocalist Jordan Dreyer says this act was “heavily inspired” by a scene in Paul Schrader’s 2017 film First Reformed, in which two characters  travel “beyond their plane of reality into some otherworldly beyond.”

La Dispute, on the other hand, will be traveling across North America, kicking off a tour in support of No One Was Driving the Car also on September 5th in Detroit, with stops to follow in Toronto, Brooklyn, DC, Nashville and more.

The band’s dropped a ton of merch in their official Hello Merch shop, including multiple vinyl variants of the new record, CDs, 7” singles,  tees, and this most excellent bumper sticker.
