40 or so years ago, Dunedin, New Zealand was home to an indie rock explosion with bands like The Chills, The Clean, Tall Dwarfs, and many more. As to what’s going on there today? Jeremy Potts of Frog Power says he’s “the wrong guy to ask.” He barely leaves his place outside of Dunedin, where he records phantasmagoric experimental lo-fi rock and creates strange drawings, paintings, and 3D pieces. On this episode of Midnight Music Review, he gives Salvador Cresta a tour of his creative zone.
“All my favorite art, it’s not in freakin’ museums and art galleries. Actually, that’s where the worst art is. The best art is in mental institutions, the sides of buildings…stuff like that. That’s my favorite shit: raw, unfiltered, out the fuckin gate.”
