Pacific Northwest indie label Suicide Squeeze was founded nearly 20 years ago, releasing a single by rock band 764-Hero. In the decades since, the label has released music by Modest Mouse, Elliott Smith, Minus the Bear, Coathangers, Death Valley Girls, and many more.
To celebrate the 764-Hero catalog coming home to the label, they’ve released a new split single with Chastity Belt covering the Hero jam “Loaded Painted Red” on the A-side, with 764-Hero’s original on the B-Side.
Chastity Belt’s Julia Shapiro says, “It was hard to do the song justice because the original is so perfect, but we also had fun reimagining it and making it our own.” You can get your copy now from Hello Merch and Suicide Squeeze, but hurry, it’s limited to 500 copies on opaque purple vinyl.
